I am Md. Nuruzzaman Mandal, professionally known as Nuruzzaman Labu, an award-winning investigative journalist with more than 20 years of experience in journalism. Throughout my career, I have specialized in investigative and public-interest reporting, with a particular focus on terrorism, violent extremism, organized crime, human trafficking, corruption, financial crime, and human rights. My work is driven by a commitment to uncovering hidden truths, exposing criminal networks, and promoting accountability through evidence-based journalism.

I currently serve as Special Correspondent, North America for Dhaka Protidin based in New York. Previously, I worked as a Special Correspondent at Bangla Tribune, one of Bangladesh’s leading online news platforms, and held reporting and editorial positions at several of the country’s most respected media organizations, including Manabzamin, Dainik Bangla, Shokaler Khabor, Jaijaidin, Weekly 2000, and Anyadin.

Over the course of my career, I have investigated and reported on some of Bangladesh’s most significant security and public-interest issues. Among my most notable work was my extensive coverage of the 2016 Holey Artisan Bakery terrorist attack in Dhaka and its aftermath. Based on years of investigation, I authored Holey Artisan: A Journalistic Investigation, the first comprehensive journalistic book documenting the attack, the extremist network behind it, and the subsequent investigation. The book later inspired the acclaimed Bollywood feature film Faraaz.

My reporting has been recognized with numerous national awards for excellence in investigative journalism and countering violent extremism. My work has also been cited in academic research, featured in international documentaries, and recognized by global journalism organizations.

I am a professional member of Investigative Reporters & Editors (IRE), one of the world’s leading organizations dedicated to investigative journalism. I am also a member of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), the Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), and the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ).

Through this website, I share my investigative reporting, publications, research, media appearances, and professional achievements accumulated over two decades of reporting on terrorism, organized crime, corruption, human rights, and other issues of national and international significance. My goal is to provide a reliable resource for journalists, researchers, academics, policymakers, and anyone interested in investigative journalism and security-related issues.
